Backgroud and ObjectivePresbyopia remains the greatest unsolved regractive problem faced by cataract surgeons. Many mechanisms have been investigated to reverse the effect of presbyopia, Modern cataract surgery is interested in recovery of the accommodative power and the accommodative IOL are currently available. In theory the accommodative IOL can improve better distant and near acuity, but not all the patient implanted the accommodative IOL had better distant and near acuity. This study aimed at investigating the long-term validity of clinical application of different intraocular lens (IOL) for the purpose of evaluating the pseudophakic accommodation and the extent of the accommodation.Materials and methodsSeventy and one patients (90 eyes) in this prospective study were senile cataract excluding high myopia, corneal leucoma, macular degeneration and other diseases which maybe impact the visual acuity, 22mm <anxial length< 25mm.All these 90 eyes were performed with phacoemulsification and implantation of 3 types of IOLs: Human Optics accommodating 1CU (study group)、 preloaded group(control group), and PMMA group (control group). The mean age is 63±12.14 in 1CU group, 62.4±10.06 in preloaded group, 68.33±7.98in PMMA group.
