Pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD) is one of the general surgeries with high morbidity and mortality . Obstrucive jaundice is usually the initiate symptom for the disease which need PD. Preoprative biliary drainage(PBD) is usually used for benefiting the patients’general status before the surgery, because obstructive jaundice has the adverse effect on the liver and kidney function as long as the recovery after the operation, in order to decrease the postoperative morbidity and mortality. But it is still controversy about the indicant and the effect of PBD at home and abroad. This article is about the current situation of the non-operative PBD with its’indicant and complications, and the effect of the PBD on the PD operation and postoperative complications .
