Objective: To investigate the expression of Twist、IGF-1、IGF-1R in colorectal carcinomas and their relationship with clinical and pathological factors, and to analyze the interaction of Twist、IGF-1 and IGF-1R on nosogenesis of colorectal carcinomas and the prognosis of patients. Methods: Immunohistochemical S-P methods was adopted to examine the expression of Twist and Immunohistochemical SABC methods was adopted to examine the expression of IGF-1 and IGF-1R in colorectal carcinomas(48 cases) and paracancerous tissues(24 cases). Results:The positive rates of Twist、IGF-1 and IGF-1R in colorectal carcinomas(47.92%、64.58%、58.33%) were significantly higher than those in paracancerous normal tissues (12.50%、16.67%、16.67%). The overexpression of Twist was significantly related with the tumor differentiation, the depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis , the TNM stage and the 5year survival state(P 0.05).The expression of Twist in colorectal carcinomas was obviously related with IGF-1(P<0.05),and the overexpression of IGF-1 in colorectal carcinomas was obviously related with IGF-1R(P <0.05).Conclusions: The expression of Twist、IGF-1 and IGF-1R may play a cooperative role in the infiltration and metastasis of colorectal carcinomas. They may serve as important biological parameters for judging the progression of colorectal carcinomas. The positive expression of Twist indicates poor prognosis and provid a valuable reference for the decision of prognosis, but the positive expression of IGF-1、IGF-1R was not obviously related with the prognosis of patients.
