Objective To study the expression of perilipinA mRNA in subcutaneous and omental adipose tissue of obesity and T2DM , their relation with insulin resistance. Methods Semi-quantitative RT-PCR was employed to study its expressions in omental and abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue of 16 subjects of obesity, 20 T2DM and 22 controls. Anthropometric data such as body weight and height, waist circumference, hip circumference were measured to calculate body mass index (BMI)and waist-hip ratio(WHR).Blood pressure was measured.Fasting plasma levels of insulin(FIns),glucose(FBG) and lipids were determined, HOMA-IR and ISI were calculated. Results (1)BMI, WC、 HC、 WHR、 SBP、 DBP、 FINS、 HOMA-IR、 HOMA-β were significantly higher in obesity than those in controls. BMI、 WC、 SBP、 DBP、 FPG、 HOMA-IR、 HOMA-β、 TG were significantly higher in T2DM than those in controls . BMI、 WC、 WHR、 FINS、 HOMA- β、 ISI were significantly lower in T2DM than those in obesity (P0.05) .(3) Pearson correlation analyze showed that the expression of perilipinA mRNA in abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue was positively correlated with TG, VLDL in obesity , but the expression of perilipinA mRNA in omental adipose tissue was only positively correlated with LDL.
