[ Objective ] To investigate the therapeutic effect of Phyllanthus compound capsule on treating chronic hepatitis B.[ Means ] The cure group(30cases)took orally Phyllanthus compound Capsule ,in the meantime the control group(30cases)took orally DFLGN Capsule , four pills each time ,three times per day .All patients were treated for six months and investigated the changes of liver function, HBV-M, HBV DNA and the diameter of hepatic portal vein, spleen vein and spleen width.[Result] After a three-month treatment, the rate of hepatitis B E antigen (HbeAg) turning negative , the percentage of HbeAg-turnning-anti-Hbe and HBV-DNA-turning-negative rate was 16.7%, 10%, 10% respectively in the therapeutic group, and 6. 7%, 0%, 0% in the control group respectively. The results of therapeutic group were not significantly different from the control group (P>0. 05). After treatment, the above-mentioned indexes were 46. 7%, 33. 3%, 36. 7% in the therapeutic group, which was significantly higher than in the control group (p21og) was 26. 7% in therapeutic group compared to 6. 7% in the control group (p21og) was 56.7% in therapeutic group compared to 16.7% in the control group (p0.05). There was significantly difference before and after treatment in those indexes of the therapeutic group (P0. 05).After treatment, the diameter of portal and spleen vein, and the spleen width in two groups were both reduced. But there was no significantly difference before and after treatment in those of the therapeutic group or control group (P>0. 05). And there was also no significantly difference between the two groups (p>0.05).After treatment, the total responsive rate, sectional responsive rate and the total effective rate was 33. 3%, 36. 7% 70% in the therapeutic group respectively, and 6.7%, 23.7%, 30% in the control group respectively. There was significantly different in the synthetically curative affection of the two groups (p<0.05).[Conclusion] There was a high rate of hepatitis B E antigen(HbeAg) turning negative , the percentage of HbeAg-turning-anti-Hbe and HBV-DNA-turning-negative rate on treating chronic hepatitis B by Phyllanthus compound Capsule. It could obviously decrease HBV DNA level and regulate liver functions. But it could not significantly decrease the diameter of portal and spleen vein, and the spleen width.In short, Phyllanthus compound Capsule has better efficiency in the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis B. It was necessary of further research and application.
